
Elliot Butler, Cello
Elliot Butler is a composer and cellist based out of Bloomington, IL. As a student in High School, Elliot studied cello at Music Suite 408 with Delle Vercimak, and played principal cello with the Illinois Valley Youth Orchestra for the 2015-2017 seasons, winning the IVYSO's concerto competition in 2017. After graduating from High School, Elliot went on to continue studying cello at Western Illinois University under the direction of Dr. Moises Molina, Dr. Ghyas Zeidieh, and Dr. Kenny Lee. After graduating from WIU with Honors in Music Theory and Composition, Elliot received his Master's degree in Music Compositon from Illinois State University, where he played cello in the University Orchestra for two years. As a composer, Elliot has had multiple works played across the world, including the United Kingdom and Ukraine. Elliot's most recent orchestral composition was performed by the Illinos Valley Symphony Orchestra in November of 2023.
